BEAU GOSH, La Naissance - Ep 1

BEAU GOSH, THE VELVET GLOVE.

or: why we wanted to do things differently (and with style)...

There were already t-shirts. Tons of them. There was already humor. Meh. But between the stupid, redneck, often macho jokes and the "inspired" logos seen 2,000 times on Instagram, there was something missing. A breath of fresh air. A well-mannered and original sarcasm. A little visual slap in a velvet glove. That's when Beau Gosh was born.

The idea was to create objects (t-shirts, mugs, caps, accessories) that make people smile as much as they seduce. With a sense of humor—if possible—and a love of beautiful design. Because we can be funny and demanding, graphic and not grotesque, offbeat and well-cut. Like you.

The first pun we'd been joking around with in years was the name of an icon that's hard to mock (you won't have too much trouble understanding why): Brad Pitt. We didn't know if it was brilliant or completely stupid (we still don't, by the way), but we went for it. The vintage typeface and well-balanced graphics did the rest. Even today, Brad Pitt is one of our bestsellers—which says a lot about the state of the world.

Then, in no particular order, came Choux Bacquat [pronounce: Chew-Bacca], our house parody of Star Wars with a pot-au-feu sauce, or Losse-en-Gelaisse, our French-southwest LA version, with bold typeface and imaginary palm trees. A tribute to those who take their vacation more seriously than themselves.

Every Beau Gosh product is there for that: to make people laugh without being cheap, to disturb without being off-putting, to provoke without causing visual hives. Wearing Beau Gosh means embracing your humor, your ideas, and your beliefs, but always with class and good manners.

Welcome home.
